Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a cashier/checker at our Charleston, WV store. You will greet customers, assist with questions, and process transactions at the check lane with accuracy and speed.

Utilize the POS system to handle various tenders and follow policy on cash handling, loyalty offers, discounts, and restricted items. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and a welcoming store environment for all customers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math is required.
• Experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers actively.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC) per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss-prevention rules.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads.
• Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Provide service with honesty and integrity.
