Job summary

Kroger in Rochester, MI is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service, greet customers, and keep the checkout area welcoming and efficient. The ideal candidate will handle transactions accurately and follow store policies.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, processing cash, card, SNAP, and other tenders, maintaining accuracy, following loss prevention guidelines, and staying current with ads and promotions. Ours is a fast-paced, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them in a friendly manner.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand POS and handle tenders: Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and loss-control policies.
• Respect guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow coupon/postage/card policies.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Follow food safety regulations and reinforce safety programs.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Follow laws and company guidelines; work calmly in a busy environment.
• Resolve conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential duties with/without reasonable accommodation.
