Job summary

ShopRite of Sayreville in Parlin, NJ is seeking a Seafood Clerk to deliver great customer experience while maintaining and operating the Seafood Department, including preparing and packing fresh and frozen seafood according to company standards.

The position requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and excellent teamwork and customer service in a bustling retail environment. Training in seafood merchandising and QA is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum reading/writing English proficiency
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products
• Ability to stand/walk for a full shift
• Able to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Able to interact with customers in a friendly, helpful way

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service
• Follow procedures for receiving, dating, preparing, storing, price-marking, scaling and restocking
• Differentiate types of seafood and advise customers on suitability and preparation
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Report equipment or safety issues promptly
• Adhere to company policies and health, sanitation and QA standards
