Hy-Vee is hiring a Produce Department Manager to lead the Produce Department, ensuring freshness, quality, and profitability. You will build displays, develop your team, and drive sales while maintaining excellent customer service and store standards.

Lead department staff, plan schedules, manage inventory, and analyze sales to support store profitability. A hands-on leader with strong results orientation will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• On-the-job training plus produce and sanitation courses required.
• Over one year of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set the standard for customer service, department profitability, cleanliness and appearance.
• Create a friendly atmosphere by modeling great service to customers and staff.
• Greet customers and assist with needs, resolving concerns promptly.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate and develop department employees.
• Set department goals with the Store Director and manage weekly schedules.
• Supervise salad bar staff and oversee inventory and operations.
• Inspect displays, order products and ensure competitive pricing.
• Analyze weekly/monthly sales, project ads and write ads.
• Plan displays, promotions and pre-orders to drive sales.
