Job summary

Joe V’s Smart Shop in Irving, TX is seeking a Meat Cutter I to provide fresh, high-quality meat products with excellent customer service. Responsibilities include cutting, trimming, tray preparation, and merchandising while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.

The role involves operating meat department equipment, labeling packages, rotating stock, and ensuring product freshness for daily customer needs. Prior market/retail experience is preferred; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of JVSS Meat Cutter training aids and SOPs.
• Knowledge of product rotation, department / store sanitation, shrink awareness.
• Strong communication skills and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, trims, trays meat for display according to company standards.
• Operates grinder, saw, knife sharpener, tenderizer, slicer.
• Weighs, wraps and labels product packages for sale.
• Rotates product in meat cooler and sales floor; maintains storage practices.
• Performs safety and sanitation duties in the department.
• Performs other cross-functional Market duties as needed.
