Job summary

Eataly North America is seeking a Cheesemonger for our cheese department in King of Prussia. You will assist guests with cheese selections, weigh, label and package products, and keep displays neat while applying FIFO standards.

You will also help with merchandising, cleaning work stations, and perform other duties as required, with a focus on product knowledge, excellent communication, and safety in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and guest service mindset.
• Basic math skills for weighing and pricing.
• Basic knife skills for cheese prep is preferred.
• Knowledge of cheese and cheese products highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products
• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators are neat and accurately priced; informs management when supplies are low
• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per FIFO standards
• Cleans work station thoroughly
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

A Cheesemonger prepares, packages, receives and stocks product. A Cheesemonger has passion for cheese and the ability to share that passion with Eataly’s guests. Reports to the Fresh Market Manager.

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products


• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner


• Ensures counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low


• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards


• Cleans work station thoroughly


• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds


• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting


• Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery and a cash register
