Job summary

Eataly in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Cheesemonger for our cheese department, home to 500+ cheeses sourced from Italy and locally. You will assist guests with selections, weigh and package products, and help maintain accurate displays.

You will rotate stock per FIFO, check refrigeration, and keep the counter clean. Availability to work weekends and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required. Prior cheese knowledge is preferred, with opportunities to learn from our team.

Qualifications

• Basic math and numerical skills required.
• Knowledge of cheese highly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products.
• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner.
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low.
• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and FIFO standards.
• Cleans work station thoroughly and performs other duties as required or assigned.

Job Description

Eataly’s cheese department is home to 500+ of the highest quality cheeses specially sourced from Italy, internationally and locally. Many of the cheeses are entirely exclusive to Eataly. A Cheesemonger prepares, packages, receives and stocks product. A Cheesemonger has passion for cheese and the ability to share that passion with Eataly’s guests. Reports to the Fresh Market Manager.

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products
• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low
• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards
• Cleans work station thoroughly
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
• Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery and a cash register
