Job summary

H-E-B is hiring a Food Service Representative to keep the department well-stocked and well-maintained while delivering superior customer service. You will prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily, while adhering to all department and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, taking orders, operating deli and bakery tasks, and ensuring sanitation and proper handling of products. The role requires HS diploma and knowledge of safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, symbol, scales, label machine)
• Strong customer service skills
• Reading and writing skills
• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service
• Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
• Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections
• Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
• Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
• Cleans and sanitizes display cases
• Operates / maintains equipment properly
• Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
• Complies with department / Store operating procedures
• Records production and shrink to aid in production planning
• Takes care of service counter Customers
• Uses ordering system applications
• Uses Fresh Production Planner
• Performs inventory management processes (MSI, PAW) as required
