Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Deli Clerk to join our fast-paced deli team. You will assist customers, prepare and present deli items, and help with sleeves like party trays and special orders in a clean, safe environment.

You will operate slicers and other equipment, maintain displays, and ensure high standards of food safety and customer service on all shifts.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery or related field.
Dependable, reliable, and able to interact positively with customers.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong communication and ability to take direction within a team.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for multiple hours per shift.
Able to answer phones and take special orders, operate deli equipment, and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing fresh and easy meals.
Provide high level customer service and ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, and presented cleanly.
Fill, rotate, and maintain products and displays in the deli area.
Prepare special orders and party trays for customers.
Operate deli equipment such as slicers, ovens, and scales per company standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment.
Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy and quality.
