Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is hiring a Deli Clerk to assist customers with healthy food choices and to prepare, package, and present deli items. You’ll fill displays, prepare special orders, and operate deli equipment while keeping the area clean and compliant with safety standards.

You’ll join a team that values flexible schedules, teamwork, and strong customer service as daily tasks include handling customer requests, stocking, and maintaining product quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and grocery/restaurant experience or an equivalent combo.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must lift/carry up to 70 lbs., up to 60", for up to 20 ft, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping; clean and sanitize the area.
• Operate a slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment; maintain safety of equipment.
• Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler/freezer environments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals”
• Providing high level customer service and ensuring Deli items are prepared, packaged, presented, and clean.
• Filling, maintaining, and rotating products and displays
• Preparing special orders and party trays
• Operating deli equipment per company standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe deli area and equipment
• Receiving, inspecting, logging products for shipment accuracy and quality
