Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking a Deli Clerk to join our fast-paced grocery team in a customer-focused environment. You will prepare fresh meals, help customers select healthy options, and maintain attractive deli displays.

You will operate deli equipment, handle party trays and special orders, and ensure a clean, safe work area. The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, standing for long periods, and flexibility including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 20 feet without aid up to 4 hours.
• Stand up to 4 hours per shift (total 8 hours).
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; sanitize area.
• Operate deli equipment safely and maintain equipment.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements; obtain Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy options and prepare fresh meals.
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are well prepared, packaged, and displayed.
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, and other deli equipment safely.
• Maintain clean, safe deli area and equipment; sweep and clean floors.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments for accuracy and quality.
