Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, bakery, pastry department, or culinary program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of French pastry fundamentals.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and during active service.
• Able to follow recipes and established standards.
• Willing to learn, receive instruction, and grow within the pastry profession.
• Food Handler Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily pastry preparation, production, and service.
• Prepare and execute foundational French pastry components, including creams, doughs, batters, custards, fillings, and other preparations.
• Work on the service line, assisting with dessert plating and execution during service.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking and baking, including portioning, chopping, weighing, measuring, and storing ingredients.
• Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables as needed.
• Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and production standards.
• Prepare and cook/bake pastry items according to recipes and standards.
• Maintain consistency in portioning, presentation, texture, and quality throughout production and service.
• Assist with daily prep lists, production lists, and organization of the pastry department.
• Follow opening, closing, cleaning, and sanitation procedures.
