Job summary

NTC Language Services is seeking dependable on-call interpreters fluent in English and French to support school districts in Suffolk County, NY. The position is on-site and remote in Long Island school settings, requiring travel to various school sites and strong communication with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities include interpreting conversations and documents, maintaining client relationships, managing schedules, and engaging in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and French (speaking, reading and writing).
• Experience interpreting and translating in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret conversations and written documentation, conveying original tone and intent.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients including parents, students, and school staff.
• Manage time and assignments to complete accepted work within deadlines.
• Connect with clients virtually, over the phone, and in person; ensure timely communication and attend meetings.
• Continuously develop educational vocabulary and participate in professional development opportunities.
