Manchester School District is seeking a French Immersion Elementary Teacher for Grade 1 at Weston Elementary in Manchester, NH. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and NH Teacher Certification with fluency in French at an intermediate-high level, aligned to NCSSFL/ACTFL benchmarks.

The teacher will create a bilingual classroom, use dual-language strategies, and engage students in content and language learning goals within the One-Way Heritage Language Immersion model.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree and NH certification per NH regs.
• Intermediate-high fluency in the target language (French) per AAPPL/STAMP benchmarks.
• Experience in bilingual/dual-language immersion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study to meet student needs and abilities.
• Create a culturally inclusive, dual-language immersion environment.
• Instruct using strategies for English/Spanish? (Maintain immersion in target language)
• Prepare lessons aligned with Dual Language Program goals and provide engaging materials.
• Monitor progress in both languages and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff to support student growth.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons and assess student achievement regularly.
