Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, French, Education, or related field.
• MA DESE license in Spanish or French required.
• Demonstrated fluency in Spanish or French (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Prior teaching experience at the high school level is preferred.
• Dual certification in Spanish and French, or another language, is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom atmosphere that encourages language exploration, cultural appreciation, and active learning.
• Plan and deliver high-quality Spanish or French instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district goals.
• Monitor and assess student progress using diverse tools and strategies.
• Communicate consistently with students, families, and colleagues to support student achievement and well-being.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum planning, events, and enrichment activities such as language clubs or immersion experiences.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives, including but not limited to the New Professional Staff Orientation and Mentor Program.
