Job summary

York Catholic District School Board in Aurora, Ontario, seeks a French Immersion Teacher (Grade 1/2) for immediate start. The candidate must hold FSL Part 1 or OCT-certified credentials and demonstrate a high level of French oral and written proficiency.

Must have Primary/Junior/Intermediate division qualifications and be prepared to teach across elementary grades. Experience in Primary/Junior/Intermediate settings, AIM/Gestures training, and higher-level FSL qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• FSL - Part 1 and/or other French qualifications as recorded on Ontario College of Teachers Certificate (OCT)
• High degree of oral and written proficiency in the French language
• Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division Qualifications
• Experience teaching in the Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division
• Trained in the Accelerated Integrated Method (AIM/Gestures)
• FSL - Part 2 or Specialist qualification
• Knowledge of Balance Literacy and Numeracy practices in the Primary and/or Junior and/or Intermediate Division
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Willingness to share a Junior or Intermediate classroom
