Dot Foods, Inc. operates Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) and is seeking a Freight Specialist to support the Traffic Department. The role focuses on invoicing haul activities, data integrity, and effective communication with customers and brokers to improve profitability and service.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, on-site in Mount Sterling, IL.

Wage Range: $17.15-$25.73 per hour, plus bonus opportunity

As a Freight Specialist, you will provide support to the Traffic Department in coordination with outside resources to improve profitability and service to our customers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Communicate via email, company-specific portals, and telephone.
• Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to invoice custom haul activities completed by the DTI Fleet.
• Collect bills of lading, lumper receipts, rate sheets, and other required documentation.
• Enter, update, and validate accurate data within operating systems.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Maintain contact with contracted brokers.
• Work on various assigned projects to help monitor costs and improve service.
• Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.
• Maintain timely and professional communication with customer contacts regarding issues that impact service and overall performance.

YOU MUST HAVE

• High School diploma, General Equivalency Degree, or relevant work experience
• Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with both internal and external customers
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
