Job summary

Dot Foods, Inc. operates Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) and is seeking a Freight Specialist to support the Traffic Department. The role focuses on invoicing haul activities, data integrity, and effective communication with customers and brokers to improve profitability and service.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, on-site in Mount Sterling, IL.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office apps.

Responsibilities

• Communicate via email, portals, and telephone.
• Use Transportation Management Systems to invoice activities.
• Collect bills of lading, lumper receipts, rate sheets, and documents.
• Enter, update, and validate data in operating systems.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Maintain contact with contracted brokers.
• Work on projects to monitor costs and improve service.
• Apply lean thinking to identify waste in the role.
• Maintain timely communication with customer contacts about issues.
