Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a Freight Rail Coordinator/EIT to support rail project teams in developing track and civil design plans, estimates, and criteria.

You will handle civil and track engineering tasks and collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, accurate delivery on projects. Candidates with an EIT certificate or pursuing one will be considered; knowledge of MicroStation, InRoads, GEOPAK-route design and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Hands-on experience with MicroStation, InRoads and GEOPAK-route design.
• MS Office Applications experience.
• Strong interest in railroad design.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural and utilities tasks
• Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager
• Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects
• Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
• Perform other duties as needed
