Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is hiring a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. You will receive classroom and hands-on training to establish a long-term career, working outdoors in all weather with diverse daily challenges.

The position is full-time with a 24/7 schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call periods. Starting pay is $43.70/hr during training and $46.82/hr once qualified, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow safety protocols.
• Experience in a safety-sensitive environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move freight safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Coordinate train or railcar movement with team members using signals or radio.
• Operate track switches and follow safety regulations.
• Perform routine train and equipment checks and reporting.
• Maintain documentation with basic computer skills.
