Job summary

Travero, a subsidiary of Alliant Energy, seeks a dependable freight-train operator to manage and operate trains safely under FRA guidelines. Work is outdoors in all weather with a 40-hour week and two days off, wearing PPE as required. Duties include yard moves, signaling, and ensuring safe cargo transport.

The role requires a High School Diploma, a valid driver’s license, and compliance with DOT/FRA drug testing. Shifts may include weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing under 49 CFR Part 40 and FRA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate trains in compliance with rules and FRA procedures.
• Move and couple freight cars, locomotives, and other equipment in yards or plants.
• Communicate movements via hand signals or radio; learn and use electronic car movement verification systems.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
