Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking a Freight Quality Inspector to ensure accurate shipment classification, proper documentation, and tariff compliance while identifying revenue opportunities. The role drives measurable improvements in shipment accuracy, reduces revenue leakage, and enhances freight handling consistency across the facility.

The incumbent will work onsite in Houston, collaborating with operations, sales, and leadership to maintain high standards and protect margins.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of experience in freight operations, inspections, or a related logistics environment.
• Strong understanding of freight classification, weight/density principles, and inspection processes.
• Proficiency with PCs, email, spreadsheets, and database systems.
• Experience with AS/400 or industry-specific systems preferred.
• Advanced mathematical capabilities, including statistical analysis and data interpretation.
• Ability to create reports, document procedures, and clearly communicate findings.
• Experience handling sensitive business and customer data with a high degree of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound and outbound shipments to identify reweigh, reclass, and revenue recovery opportunities.
• Enter shipment changes based on physical inspections and dimensioning systems.
• Ensure proper freight classification, density calculations, and tariff application.
• Maintain strict adherence to inspection standards to protect revenue integrity.
• Collaborate with terminal teams to drive corrective actions and improve load quality.
• Support a safe, organized, and performance-driven work environment.
