Key responsibilities include coordinating with carriers and coordinators, producing performance metrics, and maintaining documentation. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with in-office and remote days.

Responsibilities

• Supervises team of Freight Payment Analysts including scheduling, training development, counseling, and performance reviews.
• Ensures carriers submit invoices timely and accurately, manually or electronically.
• Ensures Coordinators process carrier invoices per contract terms and timeframes.
• Responds to freight bill problems and exceptions.
• Performs root cause analysis to determine problem resolutions.
• Prepares reports and KPIs for internal and external distribution.
• Responds to carrier payment inquiries and inquiries from clients.
• Maintains files and documentation for freight payments.
• Creates or integrates AP transactions into the Financial System.
• Maintains working relationships with customers, carriers, and coworkers to handle multiple tasks.

Position Summary:

The Freight Payment Supervisor is responsible for supervising the carrier freight bill payment functions to ensure accurate payment in accordance with carrier and client contracts.

Your Role on the Team:

• Supervises team of Freight Payment Analysts to include: scheduling, training development, counseling, disciplinary actions, timecard maintenance and tracking and performance reviews
• Ensures that carriers are submitting invoices in a timely and accurate manner, either manually or electronically
• Ensures that Coordinators are processing carrier invoices in a timely and accurate manner, complying with both carrier and client contract terms
• Responds to freight bill problems and exceptions
• Determines problem resolution and root cause analysis
• Prepares reports and performance metrics and KPI’s for internal and external distribution
• Responds to carrier payment inquiry
• Maintain files and documentation
• Creates or integrates AP transactions entry into Financial System
• Maintains working relationships with customers, carriers and co-workers to facilitate multiple tasks and priorities

What you need:

• Minimum 2 to 3 years related experience working with carriers on processing invoices; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in 3PL preferred
• Knowledge of financial reporting and systems
• Knowledge of TMS applications and freight payment systems
• PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
