FedEx Freight is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to supervise frontline staff, ensuring on-time, damage-free shipments and high safety standards. You will plan daily staffing, assign tasks, and maintain clear communication with drivers and support teams to meet service levels.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong written and verbal communication, ability to travel, and the capacity to work independently or with a team while upholding company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work (including pre-shifts) with a focus on outstanding quality, customer deliverables and safety performance identifying and overseeing improvement.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure customers’ freight is delivered and picked-up timely and damage free.
• Communicate job assignments coordinating with all employees ensuring direction is clear and concise.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Monitor, analyze and address all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining rigorous safety standards.
