Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Sandy, UT to lead and optimize daily freight activities. You will supervise hourly staff, manage workloads, ensure safety, and enforce regulatory compliance while driving performance and cost efficiency.

The role requires 2+ years in related settings and a preferred Bachelor’s in Transportation or Logistics. Day-to-day duties include scheduling, policy enforcement, and coaching with a focus on reliable customer service and team

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work varied shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, and assign workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin tasks.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Monitor safety and productivity, drive compliance and performance improvements.
• Conduct daily staff meetings and communicate corporate messages.
• Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective actions when needed.
• Champion XPO values and maintain high standards across the team.
