Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations. You will develop strategic work procedures, manage workloads, coach hourly staff, and drive productivity while complying with FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA and DOT policies.

You will also participate in safety and engagement initiatives, plan schedules, and optimize load handling to meet daily goals while maintaining high quality standards across the network.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Preferred: 2 years of supervisory experience and LTL industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and address workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and administrative functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily goals and lower costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
• Participate in safety, engagement committees and training.
• Provide coaching on techniques and quality requirements.
