Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Kernersville to lead and optimize freight operations on a shift basis. You will supervise hourly staff, implement procedures, manage workloads, and ensure safety and quality standards across the network.

The role requires 2+ years in warehousing or transportation, LTL knowledge, and the ability to work diverse shifts. A strong leader with organizational and coaching skills will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet department demands.
• Evaluate and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns and questions.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin tasks.
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce all company policies and regulations.
• Ensure timely and damage-free processing, loading and delivery of customer freight.
• Coach and develop employees on safety and quality requirements.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
• Assist in hiring decisions and corrective actions.
• Develop action plans to improve load averages and compliance.
