Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department needs, and evaluate, manage and assign workloads across the shift. You will supervise hourly staff and serve as the primary contact for workplace concerns, ensuring production goals are met.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules/regulations.
• Able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and other admin functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Ensure customer freight is processed, handled, loaded and delivered timely and damage-free.
• Coach and develop employees and conduct new hire evaluations.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
• Make recommendations on hiring, suspension and termination.
• Develop and present action plans to improve load average and model compliance.
• Monitor safety and engage with committees; train employees on safety rules and processes.
