Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a proactive supervisor to lead daily operations, ensuring on-time, damage-free movements of shipments and high customer satisfaction. You will guide staff, enforce safety protocols, and coordinate with teams to optimize efficiency.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to safety and compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules, OSHA laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and tariff rules, plus company policies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop employees.
• Supervise and direct employee work with focus on quality, safety and customer deliverables.
• Monitor safety and provide corrective action as needed.
• Plan daily manpower and schedule shipments to ensure timely, damage-free deliveries.
• Communicate assignments clearly to all staff.
• Monitor service freight and cut-time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiency while maintaining safety.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claims, and scheduling.
• Gather data for reporting and business reviews.
• Build strong relationships with partners to meet service standards.
• Identify misclassifications and OS&D issues.
• Perform administrative tasks and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
