Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in Columbus, OH to lead and supervise all freight operations. You will develop procedures, manage workloads, and coach hourly staff to meet production goals while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes planning, cost control, and direct leadership of the shift team, with opportunities to participate in incentive plans and education assistance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazmat regulations and DOT rules.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Distribution or Logistics, or 4 years related work or military experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions.
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce policies and DOT compliance to optimize network performance.
• Coach and develop employees on safety, quality and procedures.
• Direct a team to meet or exceed productivity goals.
