Watco is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to oversee day-to-day freight management, secure carrier capacity, and build strong carrier and customer relationships. You will work collaboratively to deliver cost-effective solutions while maintaining high service levels.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to compliance, and driving efficiencies across shipments, with a focus on profitability and customer satisfaction at the branch level.

Qualifications

• Transportation or supply chain experience preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 10 Key, and Data Entry.

Responsibilities

• Broker transportation shipments and securing carrier capacity.
• Trace and trace customer shipments.
• Provide customer support to meet their needs and address issues.
• Conduct spot pricing, rate negotiations to meet margin requirements, and ensure profitability.
• Manage carrier base procurement, rate negotiations, and daily execution.
• Meet all customer compliance requirements including lane service levels and timing.
• Engage with customers and carriers to sustain growth.
• Develop and manage a network of safe, reliable carriers for profitable freight movement.
• Support financial procedures and operating metrics (detention, invoices, benchmarking).
• Meet or exceed Watco and customer financial objectives.
