28Freight in Boston is seeking a detail-oriented Dispatcher to manage daily freight movement, assign work to Trade Service Providers, and maintain schedule accuracy. You will serve as a key link between customers, drivers, and internal teams, ensuring on-time performance and proactive issue resolution.

The role requires 1–3 years in dispatch or fleet operations, strong communication, and the ability to work evenings or on-call shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional logistics certifications are a plus.
• 1–3 years minimum dispatch, fleet management, or transportation operations experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to provide clear instructions.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, TMS platforms, and EDI systems.
• Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Customer-focused with proactive problem solving.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily Dispatch & Coordination: assign and communicate instructions to drivers and TSPs.
• Planning & Scheduling: assist in developing next-day driver schedules and route planning.
• Documentation & Accuracy: verify job tickets and attach PRO numbers.
• Compliance & TSA/STA Oversight: ensure TSA/STA compliance before assigning work.
• Customer & Team Collaboration: partner with Customer Service and internal teams.
• Operational Excellence: provide leadership with feedback on improvements and system enhancements.
