Summary
The Freight Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, the Freight Coordinator performs various operational tasks assigned by store management, such as receiving and unpacking daily shipments, shipping merchandise, backroom maintenance, and routine cleaning of facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compare and verify merchandise invoices to received items to ensure shipment accuracy.
  • Send alterations, layaways, or special orders to guests via FedEx.
  • Check accuracy of freight packing slips and transfer slips.
  • Ensure all transfers are processed through the register and match shipped items.
  • Properly fold and pack items for shipping to guests and other stores, ensuring proper presentation.

Visual Merchandise Management

  • Remove pins and plastic from shipped merchandise.
  • Place Sensormatic tags on garments in designated spots.
  • Hang, fold, and steam merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Assist with floor projects as needed.

Operations

  • Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Develop knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) software.
  • Receive freight and store transfers through the register.
  • Handle store mail discrepancies and maintain shipment paperwork.
  • Recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to address them.
  • Create FedEx labels and sort packages by transit time.
  • Send recalls and RTVs weekly.
  • Keep supplies organized and in stock.
  • Organize fixtures and shelving.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Communicate policy violations promptly and confidentially.
  • Provide feedback on merchandise handling concerns.
  • Adhere to Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
  • Perform duties with high customer service standards and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Perform any additional assigned duties.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience

No prior experience or training required.

Additional Requirements

Must be 18 years or older due to job nature.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, handle, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Work occurs mainly in a retail store setting with moderate noise levels.
