Job summary

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Excellent reading comprehension and ability to follow safety rules.
• Willingness to work in shifts and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain freight cars in compliance with FRA and AAR standards.
• Ensure compliance with railroad safety and operating rules.
• Perform welding and cutting operations as required.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and car-moving equipment.
• Rerail cars and locomotives with proper equipment.
• Document maintenance and repair data in computer systems.
• Wear required protective equipment and follow safety procedures.
• Complete annual safety training and pass examinations.
