Job summary

Hermann Forwarding in Houston, TX is seeking a Logistics Freight Broker to book loads, coordinate orders from start to finish, and maintain a healthy profit margin across TL, LTL, container, and drayage shipments.

You will negotiate rates, track shipments, onboard carriers, and provide problem-solving customer service while using our TMS and portals.

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field and freight brokerage experience required.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Experience in customer service in freight/logistics is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business or related field is required or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Book loads at competitive rates for TL / LTL / Container / Drayage.
• Coordinate and track orders from start to finish to ensure profit margin.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and apply correct charges to realize margin.
• Operate data entry in TMS and web-based portals.
• On-board safe carriers according to company standards.
• Track shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
