Job summary

Longway Trucking and Express Logistics, part of the Installed Building Products (IBP) family, seeks a Freight Broker Account Manager to oversee existing house accounts and coordinate daily freight operations. You will build strong relationships, source carriers, and ensure on-time shipments.

Responsibilities include tracking deliveries, resolving issues, and maintaining accurate data in the TMS. Strong communication and multitasking are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in freight brokerage, logistics, dispatching, or account management preferred
• Experience with DAT, Truckstop, and Highway is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of carrier sourcing, load management, and freight operations
• Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems (TMS)

Freight Brokerage Experience

• Freight brokerage experience.
• Carrier sourcing and negotiation experience.
• Customer account management experience.
• Knowledge of truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and freight operations.

Physical Demands

This position is primarily sedentary and performed in a professional office environment. The employee must be able to remain seated for prolonged periods, operate a computer and other office equipment, and perform repetitive motions such as typing and mouse use. The role may occasionally require standing, walking, bending, and lifting light office supplies up to 15 pounds. The employee must have sufficient visual acuity to read printed materials and electronic displays, and sufficient hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
