Job summary

Warren Transport Inc. in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Carrier Representative to work with our network of trusted carriers to haul customers’ freight. You will negotiate rates, book trucks, and monitor shipments while communicating updates to sales and customer service teams.

The ideal candidate has strong negotiation and communication skills, is self-motivated to meet daily and monthly goals, and is proficient with Microsoft Office/Outlook and Google Chrome.

Summary

The Carrier Representative is responsible for working with our network of trusted 3rd party carriers to haul our customers’ freight. This includes but is not limited to negotiating rates, booking trucks on available shipments, tracking shipment progress and communicating shipment updates with our sales and customer service teams. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated to exceed daily and monthly goals, possess strong negotiation skills, and possess strong phone, email and verbal communication skills as well as proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook and Google Chrome.

• Constantly in a stationary sitting position and occasionally will move around.

The essential functions of the role depend on in-person oversight, coaching, and real-time collaboration with management and operations staff. Remote work would remove the employee from direct supervision and eliminate the immediate coaching, escalation support, and call monitoring that the position requires. Because these functions are essential to the role, and remote work would not allow the employee to perform them effectively, working from home is not a reasonable or effective accommodation.
