Three Tone Enterprise is seeking a Freight Broker to build and grow our Amazon business. You'll source and book loads through Amazon, match them with reliable carriers, negotiate rates, and keep every shipment moving from pickup to delivery. Your work has an immediate impact on on-time performance, margins, and customer satisfaction.
This role is ideal for a hands-on brokerage professional who knows how to book, negotiate, and follow through. You understand how Amazon's freight network operates, appreciate the precision and performance standards Amazon demands, and stay calm when a load goes sideways. You're organized, persistent with carriers, and you keep your load board and records current.
You'll thrive here if you like ownership and variety, and want to help shape how a growing company builds its freight operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Search, bid on, and book loads through Amazon Freight and the Amazon load board.
- Recruit, vet, and onboard qualified carriers, verifying authority, insurance, and safety ratings.
- Negotiate carrier rates and terms to protect margins while staying competitive.
- Dispatch loads and track shipments from pickup through delivery, providing timely status updates.
- Ensure carriers meet Amazon's appointment, scheduling, and performance standards.
- Resolve delays, detention, missed appointments, and other issues quickly, escalating as needed.
- Prepare and manage rate confirmations, load documentation, and proof of delivery.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date carrier records, load activity, and communications in our TMS or CRM.
- Track carrier performance on on-time pickup and delivery, communication, and reliability, and flag issues early.
- Analyze lane and rate data to identify opportunities to improve margins and build consistent freight.
- Build and expand a dependable carrier network to support growing load volume.
- Partner with operations, procurement, and e-commerce to align freight with purchasing and replenishment plans.
Qualifications:
- Confident negotiator who secures favorable rates and holds carriers to their commitments.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate lanes, rates, and margins.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including comfort handling carrier calls throughout the day.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage many active loads in a fast-moving environment.
- Self-starter who follows through without needing to be chased.
- Proficiency with load boards, TMS or CRM platforms, and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, dispatch, or logistics.
- Hands-on experience booking and managing loads through Amazon Freight or Amazon Relay.
- Experience negotiating rates with carriers and managing loads from booking through delivery.
- Working knowledge of carrier compliance, including authority, insurance, and FMCSA requirements.
- Disciplined about keeping load records and carrier information current.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Katy, TX.
Preferred:
- An existing network of reliable carriers.
- Experience with DAT, Truckstop, or similar load boards.
- Background in pallet-level, e-commerce, or wholesale freight.
- Experience supporting a business where Amazon is a primary customer.
