Job summary

HCA Florida Atlantic Free Standing Emergency Room in Jacksonville is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse (RN) to triage, assess, and treat patients across all ages in a fast-paced emergency setting.

You will document changes in condition, administer medications, and coordinate care with the ED team, while navigating multiple care zones including triage, rapid treatment, pediatric ER and trauma. 12-hourMID shifts with rotating weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with an Associate’s Degree or higher.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the practicing state or active multi-state license.
• Current BLS; ACLS and PALS preferred and to be obtained within 30 days if not on file.
• Recent ER RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Document nursing notes reflecting change in condition, transfer and discharge.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Respond to and refer incoming calls; triage when needed.
• Ensure efficient throughput across triage, rapid treatment, carepath, pediatric ER, trauma and other zones.
• Coordinate and triage ambulance traffic.
• Collaborate with the ED attending on patient care.
• Learn and apply the Emergency Severity Index 5-level triage system.
• Serve as a resource during critical needs and trauma situations.
• Educate patients and families about medications, procedures and treatments.
