Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, FL is hiring a dynamic Emergency Room RN for a PRN position. You will triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages, coordinating with physicians to provide high-quality care under pressure.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (multistate acceptable), BLS, and ongoing certifications such as NIH Stroke Scale, TNCC, and ACLS. A 1+ year background in ER/acute care is preferred, with opportunities to grow within a leading healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license or approved multistate license; Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start date.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• TNCC required within 1 year.
• ACLS (or ACLS Instructor) within 6 months of employment start date.
• 1+ years experience in PALS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support; instructor qualification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Triage, assess and treat patients of all ages.
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation.
• Develop plans that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously providing general nursing care and prioritizing needs continually.
• Provide follow up care instructions to patients and make necessary referrals.
• Coordinate with physicians and hospital departments while maintaining patient focus and safety.
