Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville seeks an ER Registered Nurse (RN) to triage, assess and treat patients in our Level II trauma emergency room. You will document nursing notes, administer medications, coordinate ambulance traffic, and educate patients and families throughout their stay.

Shifts are 12 hours (approx. 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) with rotating holidays and weekends. A valid RN license and BLS, ACLS, and PALS credentials are required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher
• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
• A current BLS HCP is required
• ACLS and PALS are preferred and must be obtained within 30 days of hire
• At least 6 months RN experience is required
• Acute Care Hospital RN experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Triage, assess and treat patients in the ER
• Document nursing notes reflecting changes in condition, transfer and discharge
• Administer medications per physician orders
• Respond to and refer calls; potential phone triage
• Coordinate and triage ambulance traffic
• Educate patients and families about medications, procedures and treatments
