Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital in Tampa, FL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will coordinate patient-centered care in collaboration with providers and care team, following established nursing models to ensure excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities include pain management, timely documentation, patient advocacy, and education for patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida RN or compact licensure with active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
• ER experience of at least 1 year is required.
• BLS certification current; ACLS, PALS/ENPC due within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• NIHSS, TNCC, CPI training due within 6 months (grace period applies).
• National Board Certification (CEN/CPEN) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Document care in the electronic medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about condition, plan, meds, and side effects.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up such as diet, exercise, and self-management.
