Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our ER, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with department standards and state requirements. You will collaborate with physicians and care teams, using the established model to assess, perform, teach, and manage patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida RN or valid compact license; active FL RN within 60 days if compact.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year ER RN experience.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• NIHSS, TNCC, CPI training required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• National Board Certification (CEN, CPEN) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and care as ordered; document in medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients and families about condition, plan, medications, and follow-up measures.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet and exercise.
