Job summary

Visit.org is seeking an experienced Freelance Event Specialist to manage logistics for in-person events in and around St. Louis, MO. The role requires on-site presence, coordination of staff, and a focus on delivering a high-quality guest experience.

The ideal candidate has corporate event experience, strong customer service, and the energy to build in a startup-style environment. Expect nights/weekends and potential for recurring freelance work in the local region.

Qualifications

• Corporate event experience is preferred.
• Fluency in English and strong communication skills.
• Based in St. Louis, MO.
• Schedule flexibility with per-event contract work.
• Experience with large-scale events and executive-level intimate events.
• Willingness to travel within the local region.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event details, ship materials, and staff for each event; serve as on-site hands-on coordinator.
• Join virtual planning meetings before events with partners and Visit.org staff.
• Be on-site to set up, run the on-site team, tear down, and ensure high-quality customer experience.
• Act as Visit.org representative, leader, and problem solver at events.
• Manage check-in process and provide a warm guest welcome.
• Escalate issues to Events Team and provide updates with photos/videos.
• Pack, label, and ship materials back to distribution center after events.
• Travel as needed within the local region.
