Job summary

Fox News Media is seeking a Freelance Audio Operator for our D.C. Bureau to support studio and control room teams. You will run the audio console for live and recorded programming, maintain equipment, and coordinate mic/IFB sources.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, strong live TV experience, and proficiency with Calrec Sigma, Artemis, and SSL System T consoles. Flexible hours including weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic television studio environment.
  • Proficiency building and execution of effects and shows on Calrec Sigma, Artemis, and SSL System T consoles.
  • Strong knowledge of audio patch bays, Hydra BSP, signal flow, Enco playout system, with the ability to troubleshoot during live productions.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to be a team player who works well with others.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a control room for at least 2 hours without a break.

Responsibilities

  • Operate audio board for live newscasts and productions.
  • Maintain studio audio equipment.
  • Manage audio within for live & taped broadcasts, including mic sources and IFBs.
  • Work with technical staff to satisfy production needs for live and pre-recorded programming.
  • Perform facility checks with A2 and Stage Manager for all mic and IFB positions in the studio before daily production begins, including studio setup.
  • Other duties as assigned.
