Job summary

FOX News Channel in Washington, DC seeks a Freelance Audio Operator to provide technical support for our studio and control room teams. You will run the audio board for live and taped programming and maintain studio equipment.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, be proficient with Calrec Sigma, Artemis, and SSL System T consoles, and thrive under pressure with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience in fast-paced television studio environments.
Proficiency with Calrec Sigma, Artemis, and SSL System T consoles.
Strong knowledge of audio patch bays, Hydra BSP, and Enco playout; troubleshoot live productions.
Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Operate audio board for live newscasts and productions.
Maintain studio audio equipment.
Manage audio for live & taped broadcasts, including mic sources and IFBs.
Work with technical staff to satisfy production needs for live and pre-recorded programming.
Perform facility checks with A2 and Stage Manager for all mic and IFB positions in the studio before daily production begins.
Other duties as assigned.
