About Atrium:

Our client is an established retailer specializing in affordable items for men, women, and children. They are looking to bring on a talented Freelance Buying Assistant to help with day-to-day needs in their New York office.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr

Position Overview:

The Freelance Buying Assistant will work closely with the Merchandising and Buying teams. Responsibilities include creating and monitoring purchase orders, assisting with weekly sales reports, and more. The role requires strong organization, Excel skills, adaptability to new systems, and effective communication with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the purchase order lifecycle.
  2. Provide weekly and monthly sales reports and analysis.
  3. Utilize Microsoft Excel functions such as vlookups and pivot tables proficiently.
  4. Communicate regularly with vendors.
  5. Track shipments, deliveries, transfers, and discrepancies.
  6. Coordinate with the buyer, Merchant teams, and external vendors to ensure timely merchandise delivery.
Required Skills and Experience:
  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (vlookups, pivot tables).
  2. Experience in retail or fashion roles.
  3. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Excellent organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
