Job summary

ContextGlobal, a language service provider serving the Washington Metropolitan area, is seeking freelance ASL Interpreters to support assignments across our client base. Interviews and screenings will be conducted in ASL and spoken English.

Candidates must be fluent in ASL and English voicing, have completed an Interpreter Training Program (accredited programs preferred), and possess at least two years of interpretation experience.

Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language and English voicing.
• Completion of an Interpreter Training Program.
• At least two years of experience as an ASL interpreter.
• Proficient signing and voicing skills.
• Strong knowledge of educational vocabulary, ASL, and Deaf culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective communication facilitation between multiple parties, working to and from ASL and English.
• Understand cultural and linguistic differences between communities and respond accordingly.
• TB screening; Criminal background check and fingerprinting; Drug test.

The Opportunity

ContextGlobal is seeking ASL Interpreters to support assignments across our client base in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Role Expectations

• Provide effective communication facilitation between multiple parties, working to and from ASL and English
• Understand cultural and linguistic differences between communities and respond accordingly

Required Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language and English voicing
• Completion of an Interpreter Training Program (graduates of accredited programs preferred)
• At least two years of experience as an ASL interpreter
• Proficient signing and voicing skills
• Strong knowledge of educational vocabulary, ASL, and Deaf culture
