Job Overview:

The Interpreter assists deaf or hard‑of‑hearing individuals by facilitating communication in a variety of scenarios related to their day‑to‑day work activities. This role involves providing intercultural mediation to help ensure that communication is clear and effective, enabling the delivery of culturally sensitive support. A commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience, maintaining patient privacy and safety, and fostering a spirit of teamwork is essential for this position.

Job type: On‑site (in‑person)

Location: Washington DC

Date: every day, including weekends.

Hours:

• 6:30 AM to 3 PM
• 8 AM to 2 PM

Please note that this may vary from time to time.

These assignments will last for a few months and might lead to a long‑term partnership. You don't need to cover all the days.

Your background and experience:

• Work Experience: 1+ years (desirable)
• Certifications are not compulsory, but desirable (Ed: K‑12, NIC, CI, EIC)
• Fluency in spoken and written English and ASL interpreting, professional level interpreting
