Job summary

Bolton Valley Resort seeks a Free Ride Ski Coach to instruct skiers of all ages at an intermediate/advanced level and create a fun, effective learning environment. Job Summary

Instructs skiers of all ages, skiing at an intermediate/advanced level, while providing a fun and effective learning environment. Along with assisting in all facets of the ski/ride department. Scheduling, booking, coordinating, terrain parks, facilities and point of sale duties

Essential Functions

• Instructs groups and /or individuals in a fun lesson format
• Teaches proper technique appropriate to the ability level of those being instructed
• Promotes safety and gives students the knowledge to remain safe when they leave lessons to ski/ride on their own
• Participates in clinics and free skiing to constantly improve personal skiing skills
• Attends PSIA and AASI clinics, and takes appropriate exams, on an ongoing basis
• Pre-season clinics required
• Greet guests and direct guests to proper lesson locations
• Must successfully complete instructor training
• Shovel snow, fix broken items, and perform general maintenance in the club house
• Mark off and close features as safety necessities, and report closing to terrain park manager
• Patrol the park, encouraging proper park use and addressing unsafe practices with users
• Assist injured park guests, and calls ski patrol if needed

NOTE

All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.

• Ability to always ski safely and confidently in all ski conditions and in varying types of terrain
• Ability to work during peak ski times and in bad weather

Physical And Mental Demands

• Physical demands of potentially skiing or snowboarding all day
• Stress involved with customer contact and coordination of a high number of workers.

Work Environment

Work is performed both outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces, as well as indoors. Indoor time is spent on the computer, phone, and interacting with customers.
